The Louvre is a historic monument in Paris and the world’s second most visited museum. It is housed in the Louvre Palace, originally built as a fortress in the 12th century.
The Louvre’s enormous collection is organised by themes in different departments.
Some of the most impressive paintings and sculptures are Venus de Milo, an ancient Greek statue; The Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci; Liberty Leading the People by Eugène Delacroix; or the Hellenistic sculpture The Winged Victory of Samothrace.

Wednesday, Friday: until 9:45 pm.
Closed on Tuesdays.
